Kathmandu Marriott Hotel reviews
49The hotel is nicely located in the center. The rooms are very comfortable and roomy. Staff are very accommodating. Good in the Edamame Restaurant is excellent if a bit overpriced.
One of the best Marriott hotels I've ever stayed in. I spent a little over 8 hours there - between landing in Kathmandu and heading to another location. The room was wonderful and comfortable after a very long travel day. I got breakfast in the lounge and had some of the best service ever. Moj took care of me, serving me coffee, made to order dosa and also giving me advice about my itinerary. It felt very personal and cozy, despite being a very short stay. I'm glad I booked this over other options.
Went to have dinner with families on Terrace Tahia. It was an awesome experience. Good food along with good staff (Barsha BHATTA) She was so helpful and kind. Outstanding customer service.
Highly recommend this hotel. We needed a doctor, and they acted immediately, but the aftercare by all the hotel staff was amazing. We are so grateful to them all. The food in the restaurant was 5 star and service was perfect.
My family and I had a stay at the Kathmandu Marriott Hotel that was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was smooth, and we were pleasantly surprised to be accommodated with an early check-in. The rooms were immaculately clean, providing a restful haven after a long journey. The breakfast selection was varied and delightful, catering to all tastes and starting our days off right.
I would like to extend my special gratitude to Moj from the M Club Team. His efforts to ensure our comfort went above and beyond, making us feel exceptionally welcomed. His ever-present smile and the outstanding hospitality we received at the club lounge truly enhanced our experience. Moj's attention to all our needs did not go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated.
We had a thoroughly pleasant stay and the warm service, especially by Moj, has ensured that the Kathmandu Marriott Hotel will be our first choice on future visits. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort and a touch of luxury in the heart of Kathmandu.
I have stayed in this particular Marriott several times. On this occasion it was for a special event and I paid the additional cost for a club room, which comes with club access to the business lounge. I used the club twice to entertain guests for my book launch. Unfortunately the Manager of the club lounge ruined my entire experience by openly debating with me in front of other guests if I was allowed in the lounge. To which I replied “yes I have paid for the privilege” in fact my room card when swiped grants access. Given it was happy hour, I ordered two beverages and was told again in from of other guests I would have to pay for my guest in a very arrogant and rude manor. Rather than ask if he could speak to me privately away from others. He made a scene and embarrassed me. This happens on the second time I tried again to relax in the lounge. When filing a complaint and asking for a refund of the club access costs, the General Manager simply didn’t care. The summary is, this hotel over the years has become arrogant and only wants to service the big corporate guests or American Embassy staff who use the hotel frequently. Individuals like me are not valued. It’s the worst stay and worst treatment I have ever encountered in a Marriott hotel. I will never given them my business again. Sorry, but all guests deserve professional respect.
Excellent rooms for a couple and upto two kids (<10 yrs), easy 10-15 mins walk from Darbar Road, excellent breakfast buffet, gym is well equipped, a top quality deltin casino is integrated with the hotel, North Indian food is as good as the best possible restaurants in Delhi so overall an excellent package representing the best of hospitality and food. The only opportunity is limited variety and hours on the top floor lounge for club members (no single malts, hrs of liquor service are 5-8pm).
Fantastic staff and service and a beautiful property. Thank you to Thamel Kitchen staff Sharad, Sandeep, Rashila, and Chefs Anil and Alisha for the excellent breakfast service. I highly recommend if your travels bring you to Kathmandu Nepal.
Hotel is in a great condition, I like the view and I shouldn’t complain. However, I wasn’t very satisfied with the breakfast. The people were very friendly and I do know during Covid the situation is challenging for everybody, not just only for the staff also for the costumer too.
That’s why they offer instead of a breakfast buffet an a la cart breakfast with different selection. The problem is, nobody can understand what it is and how does it look like. Even the explanation from the staff didn’t work out. I suggested already to put pictures next to the name for better understanding.
I don’t want to order the fully menu and wast half of it.
Thanks.
My uncle have been staying there for the last few days and have been facing lot of problems with the housekeeping stuff as in the the bed linens are dirty not hygienic at all food has been not upto the mark. Sevice has been down. Staff is not cooperative at all.
I stayed at the Kathmandu Marriott for nearly a month, and I have never felt more welcomed or comfortable during a hotel stay. The building, rooms and amenities are all lovely (including a fabulous gym, and a beautiful pool that I would have really enjoyed had the weather been a bit warmer), but the hotel's greatest asset by far is its incredible staff. Every single interaction I had was warm, welcoming, kind and incredibly professional at the same time. In particular, Bijaya, Vicky and Rahul in the MClub lounge were truly wonderful. They were so good at their jobs, but more than that, made an effort to get to know me and the other guests. If I could give more than five stars in this review, I would, based on the incredible team working at this hotel.
Its is the worst hotel of marriot.
My parents had yo change the hotel the food quality was poor.no hospitality.bad housekeeping.the staff doesn't know anything really rude not friendly at all.had lots of insects
It is a great hotel to stay in Kathmandu. Service is very good. From your room you may have a nice view of Kathmandu. Food an rooftop bar is their speciality.
Chain hotel which located in the heart of the city. Staff are well trained, professional and friendly. The food quality is well maintained and spread is elaborate.
Room is also comfortable and well equipped. A 5 star property with casino Deltin. They also have valet services.
Last November during my Nepal trip luckily I got the opportunity to stay there. This hotel was very comfortable and beautiful. Stuf of the hotel was very responsible, well-behaved and helpful. The poolside was really nice. The mountain view from the hotel was another beauty to mention. The food of the hotel was average. Some items may not made for my taste but some those food was just match my taste criteria.

Our family lunch on 18th Jan'20 was excellent. We relished the food. Special mention for chef Bhol Bahadur who was very welcoming.
We had great time here, specially hotel restaurant was awesome! We had good service and every single food at buffet was tasty. Thank you Bibek for good service!
Excellent experience at this property. Room is quiet and comfortable and staff is extremely attentive and friendly.
Breakfast is fantastic, and features locally produced cheeses. Selection is very good, along with many made to order items. Management and staff obviously take a lot of pride in their work. Highly recommended.
We belong here! Loved it! Amazing staff! GREAT food! Amazing breakfast! Wonderful pool (not heated), loved the gym with top quality equipment.
