Hotel Moonlight

The staff where amazing. Nothing was any trouble. Even the Hotel Manager took his time to sit down and chat. Never had the kind of service from the manager before, so very impressed. The outside area is beautiful within a busy city is just what I needed. Great location.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great.

The location was perfect. It was close to all the tourist attractions and restaurants.

The breakfast buffet was excellent. There was a wide variety of food to choose from.

The hotel is very affordable for the quality of the accommodation and the location.

They have different prices and extra fees
And boy in the reception was not friendly
Didn't get the room as in the descriptive picture.

At the breakfast &dinner no of variety of items were less or similar. Cushions at the bed was very old, not comfortable. Extra bed sheet for covering self while sleeping was denied.

Service and food are quite awesome. Staff are friendly. They are several options for Rooms try the Double bedroom option. For a large group hotel arranges vehicle.

Very Nice Hotel in the Main Market Area (Thamel) of Kathmandu. Hotel is 6-7 Kms.from the Int'l Airport of Kathmandu. Very near to the Main Attractions of Kathmandu. Hotel has its Own Parking a Great relief in the Congested Area.
The Hotel Staff is Very Courteous and Helpful. The Rooms incl. Washroom are Nicely Cleaned & well maintained. There is a Small Balcony attached to the Rooms which can be used to Sit & Enjoy the Nature.
The Roof Cafe although much Popular among the Night Guests but the other Usage I found of the Roof Top Cafe was a Perfect Place to Visit in the Early Morning to Enjoy the Views of Surroundings, do Yog and Pranayam in the Fresh Air.
The Food is Nice. Buffet Breakfast is Fabulous. There is also an Open Area in addition to the Restaurant where Guests can Enjoy Food in the Very Clean & Natural Environment.
Visitor can Enjoy the Stay here while in Kathmandu although there are many Hotels in the Vicinity. One must be aware of the Traffic Congestions on way to the area.
A Must Visit Property in the Heart of Kathmandu

Rooms was Ok Ok, No view for the rooms.
Service was very poor, Staff is not bother to serve food.
Location is in crowded place.

Despite not having staying at this hotel for an entire vacation the experience was amazing. The hotel staff was helpful and kind. Food was delicious and great room service. If you stay over night in Katmandu I would recommend hotel moonlight. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed during vacation. I stayed just one night with my parents and grandparents. Stayed for a night before heading to Pokhara, while it might be a good access from the airport and the surrounding is tourist’s based shops, here is what we really though staying in this hotel:

the only good thing is how near it is to different shops and I the middle of Thamel
good seating area in the garden

the room is tiny
the bed is below poor
the shower, toilet and sink are packed on top of each other, you can have shower while sitting on the toilet
their restaurant is below average when considering delicious food
service is below average
noisy stairs and noisy surrounding
smell of food could reach your room
no elevator to our rooms
no cutlery beside the coffee stop, if you are lucky to find someone to serve you!
I added a photo, to tell you those plates and a bottle were there since the other day! And there were still there when we were checking out! Funny the other guest left it by our door!

My advice, try to avoid it, yet it is okey to have a room if no where else is found!

Recently stayed in Hotel Moonlight twice during my time in Nepal. The staff was so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fantastic! Very clean and comfortable bed rooms too.

Amazingly convenient hotel in the heart of Thamel. Close to anything you’d need pre or post trek. Decent food as well with very friendly staff.

Nice clean place with great breakfast. We had four hosts in the restaurant that made our stay pleasant. Shout out for Sangeeta, Asmita, Deepak and Ayesha. The chef at the restaurant was super friendly too, and would make dishes on demand. I would go again, the next time I'm in Kathmandu.

Hotel Moonlight is located in Thamel - Kathmamdu-Nepal, is one of crowded Hotel with majorly foreigners occupancy. The food, ambience and staff is appropriate to attract the foreigners. Other location such as Pashupatinath Temple and Bouddh Stupa is nearer to this hotel. Spa facility is also available.

Located at the corner of thamel The moonlight hotel is one of the outstanding property. They have fantastic set up for the guests. They have a very nice cute garden, it can hold many groups together one without disturbing the others. The bar and the lunch spot is ample and cozy. I highly recommend this hotel.

Fantastic hotel. They took very good care of me. From recommending me a brilliant guide for a trek, to where to go out for drinks. The rooms were very clean, the breakfast was lovely and they even helped with getting me a PCR test, sorted out the transfers as well. I had a great time here

Love this place! Great people, great food and great rooms! Perfect place to charge and later recharge when heading to the mountains! Be back soon!
