Dhokaima Cafe (Yalamaya Kendra) reviews
26 Good food, Good ambience. Has enough parking for bikes and cars. Also has spaces for small conferences and seminars.
The price is a little expensive.
Updated review:
The lagacy restaurant withe taste and service even better now! Lil expensive but comfortable and lively with multitude of seating options, meeting halls and the aura.
From momos to panini to lasagna to pizza to whole fish to aalu varieties and lot of food I had recently were all delicious. Drinks maybe little smaller in portion.
Servers are friendly and very helpful.
Among the staff, there were some poor quality staff who sat in the audience and played around even though they were working, or gave sloppy answers without checking, but overall it's not bad.
The food was delicious and I think they offer good value for money.
However, if the atmosphere is included, the restaurant may not be worth the price for the above reasons.
The ambiance is mesmerizing, neat and clean environment a lots of space for fine dine, you can have here seminar, birthday party, wedding reception, any party u want, they will provide you
A lots of food menu for veg and non veg.
Soft drinks and hard drinks.they also have separate bakery shop, Wow
A nice and lovely place, great ambiance.this cafe is historic! They have nice outside sitting space good to relax. The food and drinks are okay and so is the service.
The good part of this place is their dedication in preserving and showcasing the artifacts from the past. They actively host different musical festivals and cultural programs. And the location is great.
They now house an emerging art exhibition hall which have already showcased many good artists and their works from the country.
Good food, accurate service timing, welcoming staff and soothing ambience. The best is their chicken. Also one of the best non baked cheese cake.
The cakes in this place are out of this world. Their chocolate cake and red velvet cake are to die for.
Locale, seating arrangement is nice but their special brownie with ice cream is definitely not worth 370Rs.
Delicious pastries/coffe & nice service. Although, would have even been better if ambience and furnishings were up to dated.
Lovely place to sit and relax, with an interesting history. Great cakes, good coffee and a nice food menu.
I had heard good things about the cake here, so I ended up trying the Red Velvet pastry. It was really good, maybe slightly too wet for me, but not enough to be a problem. The cream had a subtle tang to it, that was unique and quite flavourful. The coffee was nice too, nothing to write home about, but not bad as well!
I was there around 6 pm and I sat for about an hour. The open space outside, at that dusk time, was really beautiful. The ambiance is nearly perfect. For a moment, I could forget I was in the middle of the city and just relax into my cake and coffee.
There’s a small gallery attached to the cafe with a sign marked Van Gogh Room. It was very small and I didn’t find the exhibit by Bhattari, a nepali Photographer, very interesting.
There’s also Patan Book Store attached to this cafe. It’s a lovely little bookstore and I discovered two really nice books there. Although, most of their collection is a bit old, they have a small collection of books about Nepal that were really interesting. Worth visiting if you’re in Dhokaima.
Clean bathroom
Love the place!
I visited the place with my cousin early evening. We had couple of drinks and momo. The momo was so juicy and nice that I ordered it twice. The pork sekuwa was fine. The selection of bakery was good too. I should have checked the server's name (young gentleman who served us around 3/4pm on 12th dec) who was very hospitable and good in service. I wish they had more selection of wines.
Food-not worth the money.
The worst cheesecake ever. Had heard about its bakery items a lot, but the cheesecake turned out to be a huge disappointment.
The service isn’t even that good.
The food is average. Basic actually.
Not worth the money you'll be paying. What's Good? Pastry, coffee and the ambiance!
So, if you happen to be in patan dhoka, and are hungry, have a full plate of momo in Mahabharat momos (due east from Dhokaima) and then drop by here for coffee and pastry.
But mind you, they charge service tax for a loaf of bread. Nice place for a long work+meeting but not for dates.
(Because I like to eat good worthy food, in my dates)
This place uaed to have best cheese cake. However, today just now the cake was really disappointing. This was more of an curd cake rather than cheese cake.
Sorry for half eaten cake photo.
Very dissatisfied.
I love it's outdoor seating, makes you brief you're really away from the hub-bub of the old city. And there is a book store right there so a plus for me.
Really good food including chicken Momo, and all the cakes (except tiramisu and cheesecake) are mind-blowingly tasty.
This place is amazing. I've never actually been in but I order on foodmandu and every time the food has been outstanding.
Nice place for meeting. Comfortable. Good management and staffs. Nice collaboration of meeting / conference room, restaurant, gift shop. The main thing I like most is the architecture design of this building. Vivid color and decoration with flowers and various plant looks very good. Foods are also good.
Cafe with great ambience; has it's own parking and the place is cozy.
Good selection of menu and mouth-watering cakes.
